District Optimization Plan Town Hall Presentation: April 11
Please join Superintendent Jay Badams for a community town hall presentation on Wednesday, April 11 at 6 p.m. in the East High School Auditorium.

Vern McKissick from McKissick Associates in Harrisburg will present information including:

• recommended data-driven options for long-term district optimization and facility utilization to increase efficiency and ensure educational equity; and 
• data-driven recommendations for school consolidation(s) and/or reconfiguration(s) for next school year due to budget concerns.

If you are unable to attend, the district will also air the community presentation live on educational access channel 8, again on channel 8 throughout the month of April, and make the presentation slides available here on this informational portal.

That's where Erie schools Superintendent Jay Badams sat Feb. 21 and spoke candidly about the huge financial expense the Erie School District faces to renovate schools so they are equitable for the district's 12,300 children.

I listened with rapt interest as Erie schools Superintendent Jay Badams spoke with the Erie School District's public/private partners from McKissick Associates and LP Ciminelli as they presented data that will eventually be used to create the district's strategic plan. I applaud Mr. Badams for keeping the community informed and requesting the community's input.
