Our view: Learn which Erie schools will close
On Wednesday, Erie residents will get the news we've anticipated for months: how the Erie School District will fix its crumbling buildings and resolve its budget woes.
You can hear these proposals at a public meeting Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the East High School auditorium. School officials will discuss the immediate need to eliminate a budget deficit of more than $10 million for the 2012-13 school year. You will also learn about various options (up to 20) under the district's long-term plan to reconfigure schools and reassign students.
